The Enhanced PYP…another look

As a school we have been working full steam ahead (off the back of 6 months remote learning) straight into a remote verification visit.

We began our IB journey before the release of the Enhanced PYP and have kept a foot in each camp, so to speak, working off the previous model, but looking towards the EPYP.

To be reflective of our growth as a school we recently zoomed in on the EPYP.

We began by diving into this invaluable resource

https://inquiryintolearningblog.wordpress.com/2019/11/16/making-sense-of-the-current-pyp-curriculum-model/ and comparing/contrasting our understanding of both models.

In groups we then did a jigsaw, with each group taking a column of this amazing doc https://drive.google.com/file/d/10C2Vh5_gQHHzLjBaSVdaLbbBCUdlJiAK/view

To construct learning further we synthesised our understanding into expressions of learning. Some chose to express their understanding as a Spotify playlist…

others as artistic metaphors…

others made little clips to express their learning https://youtu.be/zUZ45xjp88M

As we shared our expressions of learning it was heartening to see the progress we have made as a community and also take stock of next steps – building our own planner was one of many goals we discussed moving forward.
