Great question. By many accounts, blogs are dead. They blew up in the early 2000s. Then, like most things from the early 2000s, they became annoying and eventually went away. Well, kind of.
Blogs, by and large, are still around. Companies saw the huge potential for marketing and company blogs now abound. Successful personal blogs are still around (but they’re usually extremely niche. Further, blogging sites like WordPress and Tumblr are still booming. Nevertheless, blogs have the bad reputation of being irrelevant and annoying. Most of them add noise or are about things people don’t really care about.
Honestly, I cannot promise that this blog will be any different.
I’ve tried to have a blog a couple of times, to no avail. I was too worried about what people thought, felt too much pressure, and eventually burnt out. This time will be different, hopefully. This blog serves as a part of my 2019 New Year’s resolution to write every day. So, I can’t promise great content or thought provoking articles. I can’t promise that you’ll learn anything. I can’t even promise that I will actually write every day.
All I know is that things that I am passionate about are bound to surface. Obviously, the Christian faith will be discussed. As will cool books, Bible translations and editions, coffee, cool places to visit, my beautiful/amazing wife, random factoids, and food (I’m sure). So, there you go. I’m throwing it back to the early 2000s with a personal blog… Here goes nothing 🙂
