In both the lower and upper primary we are well on the way to creating with code. In the lower primary students designed their own mazes using drawings, unifix cubes and base 10 blocks. They then designed the maze on Cato’s Mine and wrote code to guide Cato through the maze. Best practice iPad use is when something is created, it fires off synpases in the frontal lobe – higher thinking area – of the brain.

In the upper primary we have been creating apps for a purpose. Students have created a working dice game, a times tables game – lots of fantastic ideas. The students utilised Tynker, Hopscotch and GamePress for their creations.
