It’s Time!!

It’s time, time to talk about time and time for me to show you how I scaffold a lesson. In any one class the range of abilities can be huge. Throw in the fact that some children have arrived from a different school with no German experience and the differentiation of lessons becomes immensely important.

The outcome was to teach the concepts and vocabulary surrounding time. I read a German story about bed time, then we discussed our own bedtimes, each child verbalising in German their own time at home.

We then made our own clocks. Depending on abilities the children simply stuck stickers on their ‘uhr’, wrote numbers, wrote German numbers, labelled partially and extensively.
