Herbst – Jahreszeiten

We have had lots of fun this week talking about seasons in German. In the ELC we had fun making a floor graph of different colour leaves in the grounds.

The students recorded their data in a variety of graphs. We then created some Herbst Blatten using contact, crepe paper and a leaf template.

Finally we began to learn the other seasons. In language learning I often employ ‘ear worm’ style teaching, I invent a little ditty which I teach to the kids, it invariably gets stuck in their heads and thus they have learned!

Below is the song for seasons, sung to the tune of London Bridge.

In Herbst blatten are falling down, falling down, falling down

In Herbst blatten are falling down in das morgan

In Sommer son is shining out

In Winter rain is falling down

In Fruhling flowers are growing up

TCHUSS! 🙂
